电镀工艺(PlaTIng)After the connector pins are stamped, the next process is the electroplating stage; during this phase, the electronic contact surfaces of the connector will be coated with various metal material layers, including nickel plating, tin plating, and half-gold plating, to prevent oxidation and improve conductivity. Problems similar to those in the stamping stage, such as twisting, breakage, or deformation of the pins, can also occur during the process of feeding the stamped pins into the electroplating equipment. Twisting, cracking, or deformation may also occur throughout the entire process of feeding the stamped pins into the plating equipment. These quality defects are relatively easy to detect using the above techniques. However, for most machine vision system suppliers, many quality defects during the electroplating process remain a "forbidden zone" for detection systems. Type-C connector manufacturers hope that detection systems can identify various inconsistent defects on the plated surfaces of connector pins, such as small scratches and pinholes. Although these defects are easy to recognize on other products (such as aluminum can bottom lids or other relatively flat surfaces), due to the irregular and angled surface design of most Type-C connectors, vision inspection systems find it difficult to capture the images required to identify these subtle defects.注塑加工(Molding)Injection molding refers to the process of forming the plastic housing of an electronic USB connector by injecting molten plastic into a metal mold, followed by rapid cooling to solidify it into shape. When the molten plastic fails to completely fill the mold, a so-called "leak" occurs; this is a typical defect that needs to be detected during the injection molding stage. Other defects include filling or partial blockage of the insertion holes (these holes must remain clean and smooth to properly connect with the pins after assembly). Since backlighting can easily identify housing leaks and hole blockages, the machine vision system for post-molding quality inspection is relatively simple and straightforward. It is a typical defect that must be inspected during the injection molding process. Other defects include the filling or partial blockage of the insertion holes (these holes must be kept clean and unobstructed to properly mate with the pins during final assembly).
